	Cycling and Walking The Pegasus way which is being continually extended, is only 200 yards from the site (Suitable for walking and mountain bikes). Dartmoor is close by, so many places for cycling or walking. The Granite Way and the Tarka Trail are excellent places for bike hire. Guided walks are available via West Devon Walk and talk. 	Golf courses nearby Only a quarter of a mile away you will find 6 beautiful golf courses. We have a special arrangement that our caravanners are able to get a super deal for Day passes from £ 20 per person. Par 3 only £ 8.00. Club hire and buggies are also available. 	Fishing lakes Lakeside course fishing is just a quarter of a mile from our site. Suitable for all levels of angler from beginners to the most experienced. Lakeside Course Fishing and tennis courts.
	Dog Walking This is a dog friendly site and there is a dog play area (dogs need to be supervised) at the far end. Also there are plenty of walks around that are suitable for exercising your dog. Scenic, both woodland and moorland.
	The Historic Town of Okehampton Less than 4 miles away is the interesting town of Okehampton. It has the remains of the largest castle in Devon, reopening to the public from 25th March 2016. There are many local shops and supermarkets to stock up. The third Saturday of every month there is a Farmer's market held in St Jame's Chapel Square. A launderette, pubs, banks, minor injuries unit, Merlin's cinema, modern swimming pool and leisure centre, tennis courts, bowling, doctors surgery, dentist, fish and chips, Indian takeaway, regular buses and plenty of history. Okehampton station has a Heritage service running at certain times of the year.

	Roadford Reservoir Roadford Lake, also known as Roadford Reservoir is a man-made reservoir fed by the River Wolf. It is located to the north-east of Broadwoodwidger in West Devon, only approx 17 minutes drive from Ashbury Caravan Park. 8.1 miles via the A3079. Perfect for a family day out, lunch with friends, breakfast after a morning of sailing or just simply a place to walk the dog and enjoy the views.
	Gawton Gravity Hub Gawton Gravity Hub Tavistock is only 15.5 miles from us offering over 500ft of unrivalled gravity fed descent. Four tracks with everything from flowy single track, to steep technical descending, Gawton Gravity Hub has all a gravity addict needs to get hooked and wanting more. Added to the ups and downs, their trail centre hut, open at weekends and bank holidays from noon - 3pm, offers hot and cold drinks and snacks.
	Finch Foundry Finch Foundry is just over 10 miles from Ashbury Caravan Park and is a 19th-century water-powered forge situated in the village of Sticklepath near Okehampton. It was originally used to produce agricultural and mining hand tools and at its peak produced around 400 edge tools a day. They do close during the winter, so please check opening times on the National Trust site.
	Lydford Gorge Lydford Gorge is the deepest gorge in the South West, with a spectacular 30m waterfall. The gorge is an amazing place to visit at any time of the year. 	Castle Drogo Approximately 19 miles from Ashbury Caravan Park. Castle Drogo is a country house near Drewsteignton, Devon, England. It was built from 1911 and was finished in 1930 for Julius Drewe to designs by architect Edwin Lutyens, and is a Grade I listed building. 	RHS Rosemoor RHS Rosemoor is approximately 21 miles from Ashbury Caravan Park in Torrington. Enjoy a day out at the beautiful RHS Garden Rosemoor in North Devon. 	Exeter The beautiful cathedral city of Exeter is approximately 30 miles from us and has a wealth of history. Places to see include the Quay, Castle, Underground passages, Royal Albert Museum, Cathedral, shops, pubs, restaurants and so much more. There are plenty of cycle routes around the city and out into the countryside. There are Red Coat Guided walking tours of the city also from Cathedral Green.
	Launceston Launceston, ancient town of Cornwall is only 20 miles from Ashbury Caravan Park and a beautiful historic Cornish town. With a castle at the top and shops, pubs, restaurants and beautiful surrounding countryside. Launceston Steam Railway runs from the end of March until the end of October, however not everyday. There is a Launceston Town Trail.
	North Coast An easy drive to the North Cornish coast, featuring miles of sandy beaches, great surfing beaches like Bude, Widemouth Bay, Crooklets and Sandymouth. The North and South Devon coasts are only about an hour's drive away.
	Cholwell Riding Stable Cholwell Riding Stables is only 12 miles from Ashbury Caravan Park. A family-run business that has been providing escorted rides and riding lessons on Dartmoor for nearly forty years. 	Tavistock Tavistock is just over 15 miles from Ashbury Caravan Park. An ancient stannary and market town within West Devon. It is situated on the River Tavy from which its name derives. A Pannier Market open Tuesday - Saturdays with a variety of stalls. There are shops, pubs, restaurants and at the Tavistock Wharf they have live music and shows well worth a visit.
	Pottery Lessons If you would like to have a workshop while you are staying at Ashbury Caravan Park then please let us know in advance and we can try to arrange one for you with one of our local artists. Pottery is very popular currently and a wonderful craft and skill to have.
